The Short Term Effects of Drug Abuse
Drug Abuse involves the repeated and excessive use of a prescription or drug. Drugs over stimulate the brain, flooding it with dopamine which creates a sense of pleasure that the brains wants over and over again. Drugs cause increased energy, rapid heart rate and elevated blood pressure. Continued use of drugs causes rapid breathing, irritability, impulsiveness, aggression, nervousness, insomnia, weight loss, tolerance, addiction and a possible heart failure. These drugs can also produce an impairment in your regular functioning such as memory loss or may impair your ability to learn. These effects could lead you to getting kicked out of school which could devestate your future. There are many ways to tell if you have a problem with drugs. Some of them are the continued use of drugs even though they are causing many health problems for you. You may feel annoyed when other people comment on your repeated use of drugs. If your entire day is focused around using drugs you may also have a problem with them. You may also have a problem if you start to miss school or work or you are late to certain things due to your drug use. Lastly if you use drugs alone you may also have a drug problem.
